Litigation Attorney – General Liability Litigation (New York, NY)
A leading international law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3–6 years of experience to join its team in New York. The role focuses on defending complex general liability matters, including New York Labor Law, premises liability, catastrophic injury, hospitality, transportation, and negligent security claims. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail‑oriented, and possess exceptional legal writing skills, while managing a diverse caseload and engaging directly with clients and insurers.
Salary Range $130,000 – $165,000 per year
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of 25–30 litigation matters
Take depositions and attend hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings
Draft and submit pleadings, motions, and briefs
Prepare correspondence to clients and colleagues
Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and Nexis
Draft and respond to discovery requests; review and analyze documents for production
Investigate claims and develop case‑handling strategies
Report effectively to insurance carrier clients and insureds
Prepare cases for trial or mediation and participate in proceedings
Qualifications
JD earned between 2019–2022
Admitted to practice in New York
3–6 years of litigation experience
Excellent academic credentials
Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work independently
