The general role of the Project Manager is to be responsible for the initiation, implementation, and management of electrical business services, initiatives, and opportunities within the Division. The Project Manager is also responsible for supporting customer service and growth within the Division.

The Project Manager will manage processes, personnel, and resources to provide services, products and/or deliverables that are on‑time, on‑budget and meet or exceed customer expectations. The Project Manager must possess the knowledge, experience, licenses, and ability to work with new and/or developed customers to determine business and operational needs and opportunities for Pillar Innovations and to provide continuous improvements and efficiencies for its’ customers.

The position must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes travel, out‑of‑town work, weekends, extended hours, and call‑out work.

The Project Manager will report to the Business Development Manager and will work primarily out of the Farmington location.

Responsibilities

Provide development and oversight of project scope, purchasing, goals, scheduling, budgets, risk management, and resource management to ensure that jobs are on‑time, on‑budget, and meet code requirements and customer expectations

Coordinate with inspectors and other trades to ensure that work plans and quality standards are met

Coordinate with Accounting for work orders, job numbers, and billing processes

Provide management with fiscal reporting and updates as required

Create and review proposals, bill of materials, and job costing

Provide management with information, forecasts, and suggestions on methods to improve the profitability of the Department

Review and complete work in progress (WIP) reports

Communicate personnel, equipment, and supply needs to the Manager

Manage and direct project team members through effective coaching and project coordination

Provide paperwork and documentation for accurate record keeping, billing, and inventory

Ensure proper communication to Division Manager on all pertinent issues

Serve as the primary contact for assigned customers and cultivate customer relations to identify sales opportunities

Identify potential problems and provide effective solutions and problem‑resolution

Coordinate and assist other trades and disciplines throughout the company as needed

Participate in post project reviews to identify future areas for project improvement

Other Duties

Strong preference for candidates with 5+ years of management experience in the Industrial Electrical industry

Degree or Certification in Electrical discipline or Business Administration required or an equivalent combination of education and experience

5 years of electrical field experience preferred

Master Electrical License in at least one state preferred

Strong knowledge of safety and construction regulations

Strong mechanical and civil knowledge preferred

Possess excellent networking skills

Ability to troubleshoot on‑the‑job issues effectively and efficiently

Must possess the knowledge, experience, and ability to make sound business decisions that result in value to the customer and growth for the company

Proficient in organizational skills with high level of attention to detail

Skillful in imparting information

Demonstrated ability to excel under pressure and meet budget and deadlines

Possess strong computer skills that would include the Microsoft Office Suite

Skilled in schedule development/management including Microsoft Project or Primavera P6

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Ability to represent Pillar Innovations in a professional, competent, and courteous manner

Ability to coordinate with cross‑functional teams to accomplish common goals

Must be a self‑starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or review

Must be able to effectively adapt to ever‑changing and ever‑emerging customer needs
