Overview
DSHS SCC Psychologist 4 is part of the Special Commitment Center (SCC), within the Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA). The SCC on McNeil Island seeks a Psychologist with experience or desire to work with individuals with various paraphilias and personality disorders. The center is committed to evidence-based treatment to reduce recidivism and increase public safety, and to fostering an equitable and inclusive culture that promotes growth, engagement, and safety. The role offers opportunities to gain experience as a clinician and supervisor with support from team leaders and program managers. Those not yet licensed can be hired with an In-Training period to prepare for supervisory and clinical responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Develop and lead evidence-based treatment groups
Provide individualized 1:1 intervention to selected clients
Attend, lead, and contribute to resident treatment team meetings, conferences, or debriefs
Administer and score testing to inform treatment recommendations
Complete electronic documentation of individual treatment sessions, observation reports, incident reports, and other official documentation
Develop case conceptualizations for development and implementation of individualized treatment planning
Participate in depositions and, if required, testify as a fact-witness
Qualifications
Professionals with a Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited program, eligible for licensure in the state of Washington
Three years of post-doctoral psychology experience, including one year supervising other professional psychologists
Alternatively, this job can be filled as a Psychologist 3 for those not licensed in WA, based on experience and readiness to pass WA licensure within this field
