Nurse Practitioner – Trauma – Per Diem

Job Description The Trauma Department at PeaceHealth’s RiverBend Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon, is hiring a per diem Trauma Nurse Practitioner to fill in as needed to cover vacation, CME, and leave of absence.
Responsibilities
Rounding on patients on the ward and ICU, providing OR first assist, seeing patients in the clinic, managing consults, admissions, and discharges.
Working with two trauma surgeons during the day, along with a Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant to coordinate and share the workload.
Performing procedures including chest tube placement, arterial line and central line insertion, I&D, skin biopsies, laceration closures, and wound debridement.
Support a Level II Trauma Center with 392 beds that serves a large catchment area, the largest hospital between Portland, OR and Sacramento, CA, with average volumes of 3,500+ patients per year.
Springfield and Eugene are sister communities located at the southern end of the Willamette Valley, known as Oregon wine country. The area features the Willamette and McKenzie Rivers, scenic paths, and a vibrant downtown with culinary and cultural attractions. It is an appealing location to live, work, and play.
