Senior Full-Stack Developer Join to apply for the Senior Full-Stack Developer role at Pearson. This requisition is part of Pearson’s K-12 School Technology group that develops innovative assessment technology platforms to deliver exams to test takers, and score and report results. We are building our next generation of assessment platforms, leveraging state‑of‑the‑art technologies and processes. We are looking for outstanding candidates to bolster the staff of this critical work.

Responsibilities

Analyze, design, implement, and unit test code for a project team supporting cutting‑edge assessment technology platforms.

Implement designs following Pearson coding standards and industry best practices.

Participate in requirements, design, and code reviews.

Work closely with QA, configuration management, and end users to release high‑quality software.

Write and execute unit tests, create testable requirements.

Participate in group improvement activities and initiatives to enhance product quality.

Required Experience

Full‑stack engineering experience with Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, VueJS, Python, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

Experience developing and maintaining Cloud‑hosted (AWS) applications.

Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline.

Software development experience creating SaaS applications.

Experience with development, maintenance, and testing of software following industry best practices.

Experience with highly available, highly concurrent web‑based applications.

Experience with GIT or similar VCS tools.

Experience working in an agile environment.

Desirable Experience

Experience working with AI tools and LLMs.

Desire to expand knowledge in multiple development languages, applications, and tools.

Quick learner of new processes, tools, business domains, and technical applications.

Strong technical and analytical thinking.

Understanding of architectural principles.

Strong time‑management skills, including working well under pressure, planning, setting priorities, adapting to change, and meeting timelines.

Self‑starter and detail‑oriented.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work within a team.

IMS LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability)

IMS QTI (Question & Test Interoperability)

IMS OneRoster

Common K‑12 reporting frameworks such as Ed‑FI and Caliper.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors, including skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by state law, the pay range for this position is $110,000 – $150,000 for full‑time employees. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is available upon request.
