A values-led UK-based property and social impact organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to oversee multi-entity bookkeeping operations across its growing housing group. This role is vital to ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making in a mission-driven business providing both temporary and long-term accommodation solutions. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you\'ll lead the day-to-day finance function, optimise systems like Xero and ApprovalMax, and collaborate closely with leadership to maintain clean financial data and reporting. If you\'re a Xero-certified professional with a deep understanding of intercompany finance, automation tools, and UK compliance this role offers meaningful work within a supportive remote team. Salary: R30 000 - R35 000 Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Lead weekly bookkeeping processes across multiple entities Oversee client invoicing, credit control, and supplier payments Manage bank reconciliations and ensure up-to-date cash flow data Maintain accurate intercompany accounts and deferred income records Track rental income and costs, ensuring correct allocations across properties Respond to finance-related queries via shared inboxes Systems & Automation
Optimise and maintain workflows in Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax, and Telleroo Manage user access, system permissions, and integration integrity Drive automation and system improvements to streamline financial processes Collaborate with operations and tech teams to align financial and property systems Reporting & Compliance
Prepare weekly finance dashboards: cash position, debtors, and payables Lead preparation for monthly finance reviews with leadership Support quarterly UK VAT submissions and compliance Ensure accurate record-keeping aligned with UK financial regulations Qualifications and Experience
Essential
Xero Certified Advisor with up-to-date certification Minimum 35 years of senior-level bookkeeping experience Proven experience managing multi-entity finance In-depth knowledge of intercompany transactions and reconciliations Solid understanding of UK VAT requirements and submission timelines High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and system thinking Access to a reliable laptop/PC and stable internet connection Desirable
Experience with workflow automation and financial integrations Comfort working in a remote, collaborative team environment Experience with visual reporting tools or dashboard creation
