Overview
This candidate will lead a team supporting coordination of a unified demand signal for Operations to meet the Groton Operations Resource & Hiring Plan. Focused efforts will be on new hire deployment strategies to assist Operations in meeting production goals. The Hiring Plan prompts Operations to achieve the Manning Plan with partnership of Talent Acquisition and Training. This candidate will be responsible for orchestrating various inputs to define reource strategies around forecasting demand, deployment of resources to ensure internal movement in an efficient manner across the shipyard. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter, ready to work in a fast-paced production environment supporting Operation departments. The successful candidate will report to the th Operations Resource Manager. Responsibilities
Partner with Operations to understand hiring demand and phasing Manage placement and deployment to meet Operations Hiring Demands Support seamless indoctrination of employees into the shipyard Partner with HR, Training, and Talent Acquisition to ensure onboarding schedule for mechanics and supervision, with Training phasing, meets the production floor dates established Manage internal movement of resources based on business need Ensure Operations Supervisor deployment and crew size matches intent of Supervisor Compensation Structure Qualifications
Required: High School Diploma or GED 4+ years of resource planning / program office experience Preferred: 2+ years of supervisory experience 3+ years of Groton Experience Experience with Fishnets and Manpower Possess a working technical knowledge of shop environment and modular construction Skills
Concrete understanding of Groton shipyard resource and program structure Credibility with Operations Leadership team Must have strong coaching and mentoring abilities Demonstrated leadership skills Be willing to work as part of a team dedicated to knowledge transfer, growth, and advancement Must have strong interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and interact with all levels of management Must possess excellent organizational/facilitation skills Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong understanding of resource management Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate conversations with Senior Management
