Role Description This full‑time Senior Accountant role is a hybrid role with consistent on‑site attendance based in Gonzales, TX, which is approximately one hour east of San Antonio and south of Austin.
Summary
Drive monthly financial close process
Prepare month‑end journal entries
Manage prepaid, amortization and fixed asset/depreciation schedules
Maintain monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts and weekly bank reconciliations
Manage and prepare complex entries for employee and broker commissions and royalties
Support finance team with variance explanations and validation of financial data
Complete quarterly alcohol tax refund filings
Support annual audit and external stakeholder requests as needed
Support continuous improvement and development of efficiencies for close and reporting including implementation of new software and tools
Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
Support the maintenance and integrity of ERP data
Complete other duties as assigned including A/R, A/P and other tasks
Qualifications
High integrity, attention to detail and results‑driven mindset
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field with extensive accounting experience. CPA, CPA candidate, or CPA equivalent credentials strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting as well as familiarity with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Manufacturing and/or consumer goods experience strongly preferred
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with Private Equity, acquisition and debt accounting
Experience with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics, or Quickbooks Enterprise
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in MS office tools, SharePoint and PowerBI
Knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and plant financials
Experience with Infor Syteline/CSI ERP
Experience managing ecommerce (company owned and third party) accounting
Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
Experience with handling high volume of data
Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves
