LAN Network Engineer – TEKsystems

Overview As a LAN Analyst for the Caterpillar Americas team, you will work both independently and as part of a team on complex network projects. You will develop your professional network and leadership skills while supporting a wide variety of network‑related solutions. You will also utilize your technical skillset and business understanding to help solve critical business problems.
Responsibilities This role will work with the Caterpillar LAN team to provide support for all Caterpillar locations across the Americas.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve LAN issues and replace defective components as needed.
Respond as needed to support requests that relate to LAN development and support.
Provide off‑shift support for critical incidents; team members rotate through an on‑call schedule, requiring occasional off‑shift and weekend support calls.
Work directly, as needed, with business partners and vendors with integration of infrastructure.
Design and implement processes and process improvements to aid in development and support.
Follow ITSM process and documentation for all changes.
Collaborate with other technical teams as needed to plan and execute changes (i.e., firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC, etc.).
Advise business partners regarding technical questions/issues in the LAN space.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Experience with automation technologies and scripting.
Experience with DNA Center.
Wireless knowledge and experience.

Strong communication skills; consultant will work at multiple CAT facilities and interact with diverse groups.

Job Type & Location Contract position based out of East Peoria, IL.
Pay & Benefits The pay range for this position is
$50.00
–
$55.00
per hour.
