Network Engineer - Mid (Active Top Secret Clearance)

JOB OVERVIEW
TEKsystems is looking for a Junior Network Engineer to support our Federal Government Client in Huntsville, AL. The role provides technical engineering support for a large federal government agency’s complex network infrastructure, including multiple enclaves of varying classification levels. Responsibilities include design and engineering activities for new network solutions in a multi‑enclave environment and on‑call support to resolve issues beyond the first three support tiers.
Core Responsibilities
Monitoring and analyzing enterprise networks and network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, encryptors, etc.
Providing expert technical guidance and support to the Government, Project Lead, and other Network Analyst in monitoring and managing the customer networks.
Maintaining awareness of trends and best practices related to networks, technology, and IT topics, and recommending improvements or changes to customer systems and processes.
Delivering high‑quality and professional customer service in all interactions.
Using the Enterprise Network Monitoring Platform to analyze and document network performance of any or all network components.
Serving as the initial point of contact to resolve networking problems.

Active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI
Minimum of 3+ years of networking experience, specializing in Cisco switches and routers and resolving LAN/WAN issues
Basic knowledge of IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, Stateful firewalls and encryption technologies
Working knowledge of network management tools such as Riverbed, Wireshark, Micro Focus Network Automation, etc.
Working knowledge of web applications, web servers, application load balancers and storage systems
Must have good knowledge of general security tools and methodologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS and access control lists
Experience Level Intermediate Level
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Huntsville, AL.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
