The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of ROI functions across all sites, client communication, project management, strategic planning, budgetary performance, staffing and recruiting. The position requires effective written and verbal communication with direct reports, colleagues and clients.
The Regional Manager will act as the liaison between MRO Corporation and Client Management to ensure that all contracted service level responsibilities, as well as, medical record request processing is compliant with established company goals, client policies, federal / state regulations and are completed in a timely manner.
Ideal candidate would be based on the West Coast - PST. Travel required to sites in OR, WA, CA, AZ, and ID.
Tasks And Responsibilities
Conduct meetings with client management to review ROI Operations, suggest workflow improvements, and provide issue resolution guidance.
Generate timely, concise, and effective business correspondence.
Manage regional P&L and expenditures to budget.
Interact with employees, customers and colleagues professionally and courteously. Demonstrate superior time management and attention to detail.
Participate in process review and improvement meetings.
Conduct quarterly business reviews for each client.
Make crucial decisions to achieve success by reviewing productivity standards and contract language; apply analytical skills to tackle daily problems.
Recruit, hire, and train staff to meet defined job responsibilities.
Ensure staff is oriented, trained and competent in all aspects of Medical Record – Release of Information.
Ensure productivity standards and goals are met for direct reports (Area Managers, Site Supervisors, ROI Specialists).
Conduct on‑site HR requirements and manage employee schedules.
Approve bi‑weekly payroll and manage work schedules of ROI Specialists to cover peak periods, leave and vacancies.
Perform QA monitoring of work performed by reporting staff.
Conduct quarterly performance reviews and annual reviews for all reporting managers and ROI Specialists; develop team members to achieve their professional goals.
Monitor performance and provide feedback and evaluations for reporting ROI Specialists.
Promote a positive image of MRO with emphasis on customer service by treating patients, co‑workers, and medical center personnel with courtesy and respect.
Respond to customer needs positively, professionally and efficiently.
Improve regional processes, policies, and practices to achieve company goals and meet regional policies.
Report to MRO Director of Operations, serving as a link between managers and ROI Specialists to develop and implement new plans/ideas that enhance operations company-wide.
Skills | Experience
Minimum High School Diploma / GED required.
Bachelor’s and/or Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, or health‑related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
Credentialed RHIT or RHIA preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of supervisory/management experience in Health Information Management in an acute care hospital or clinic setting.
Prior work history of supervising a minimum of 20 full‑time employees.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy information standards required.
Excellence in business writing communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Excel, Word). Ability to manipulate data in spreadsheets, including Pivot Tables and Graphs.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel locally, including overnight stay as necessary.
