Job Description The Warehouse Supervisor oversees receipt, storage, and shipping of products, manages product movement and storage systems, improves operational efficiency, and assigns tasks to staff. The role ensures that product delivery targets and production goals are achieved and maintains communication with Sales and Customer Service staff regarding shipment delays.
Provides human resources support for warehouse operations by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees. Communicates job expectations, plans assignments, monitors performance, reviews and appraises employees while overseeing company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitors operational issues, makes recommendations, and reports status updates to management. Prepares and executes action plans to improve production, productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards. Completes inventory and cycle counting events accurately and on time.
Develops operational flow for processing inbound and outbound shipments (LTL and truckload). Determines daily priorities for laborers based on orders and time‑sensitive shipments. Assists in determining product handling and storage requirements, and oversees receiving, equipment utilization/maintenance, inventory management, and shipping processes.
Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and securing products in stock along with related equipment.
Stays current through educational opportunities, professional publications, networks, and organizations. Standard business hours are Monday‑Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with additional hours as necessary. Applicants may be required to travel for training or to fill in at other locations.
Reporting Warehouse managers report directly to the National Warehouse Manager and indirectly to the General Manager.
Education A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. College education in related fields is preferred.
Experience Minimum of 2‑3 years verifiable work experience in warehouse operations or a related field.
Skills / Qualifications
Excellent ability to manage processes, labor, and communication.
Daily supervision of all warehouse operations.
Strong data entry, reporting, communication, and time‑management skills.
Capability to handle multiple priorities, change priorities, and meet deadlines.
High level of self‑motivation and a desire to consistently perform at high levels.
Demonstrates a solid work ethic and takes pride in the Warehouse Supervisor role.
