We’re partnered with a fast-scaling, PE-backed integrative primary care organization to recruit their first Chief Medical Officer (MD/DO). This is a rare opportunity to shape the clinical future of a high-growth healthcare organization that is redefining how primary care is delivered.

What began as a bold vision to practice medicine differently has grown into a 19-clinic organization across Oregon with 250+ FTEs, with active expansion into Southern Washington. The model blends traditional primary care with functional and integrative medicine, including advanced diagnostics, hormone optimization, nutrition, and lifestyle-based care.

This organization is moving beyond symptom management toward root-cause, patient-centered medicine at scale. Historically NP-led, they are now adding a senior physician executive to serve as the organization’s top clinical authority and strategic medical leader.

As Chief Medical Officer, you will provide enterprise-wide medical leadership, elevate quality and compliance infrastructure, and partner closely with executive leadership as the organization continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities: Provide clinical oversight and medical direction for approximately 55 providers across 19 clinic locations Lead quality, safety, and outcomes programs, including patient safety initiatives, regulatory compliance (HIPAA, OSHA, payer requirements), and audit risk mitigation Partner with the Associate Clinical Director to recruit, mentor, and develop physicians and advanced practice providers Develop and refine clinical protocols that balance integrative care philosophies with evidence-based medicine and payer expectations Serve as the primary clinical representative with payers, regulators, and external stakeholders Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and operational decision-making at the executive level Maintain up to one day per week of patient care to stay connected to frontline practice and build provider trust and credibility

Qualifications: MD or DO with an active Oregon medical license (or eligibility) Board-certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Primary Care, or a related specialty 10–15 years of clinical experience, including 5+ years in healthcare leadership Demonstrated experience leading quality programs, provider supervision, and regulatory compliance in a multi-site healthcare organization Strong understanding of integrative and functional medicine models, payer dynamics, and scalable care delivery Proven ability to lead through growth, change, and complexity with strong communication and executive presence
