Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree and a valid Missouri teaching certificate for K‑6.

Preferred:

Five years of successful classroom teaching experience.

FLSA:

Exempt.

Salary Schedule:

Per Approved Teacher Salary Schedule.

Direct Report:

Building Principal.

Terms of Employment:

9‑month contract.

Eligible for emergency telework:

With Supervisor Approval.

Purpose To provide the kind of reading instruction and learning environment that enables each student in the building to make progress toward mastery. The intervention specialist is responsible for developing a student‑centered system of instruction that effectively closes the reading achievement gap.

Essential Job Functions

Attend work in a regular, reliable, and punctual manner.

Demonstrate knowledge of scientifically based reading instruction.

Effectively employ reading intervention strategies with students daily.

Provide classroom support when needed with team‑teaching, model lessons, and lesson planning.

Review and report intervention data to all stakeholders.

Utilize data effectively to adjust instructional practice and student grouping.

Collaboratively plan with staff to analyze and use data to implement intervention programs.

Use technology for instructional planning, including creating reports and using data to plan lessons.

Communicate and collaborate with classroom teachers regarding alignment between classroom instruction and interventions.

Confer with parents about students experiencing reading difficulties or requiring special remedial help.

Perform other assigned duties.
