Role: Travel Surgery Center Administrator
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Type: FTE/Permanent
A leading national provider of ambulatory surgery center (ASC) services is seeking a dynamic and experienced Travel Surgery Center Administrator (SWAT/Float Pool) to oversee operations at multiple facilities across the Mid-America Division. This executive-level role is ideal for a seasoned ASC Administrator looking to make a regional impact and support high-performance surgical centers throughout the Midwest.
Key Responsibilities Facility & Operational Oversight
Oversee daily operations of assigned ambulatory surgery centers
Serve as liaison between Medical Staff, Governing Board, and departmental teams
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies
Lead operational review presentations with corporate teams
Business & Financial Management
Manage facility budgets and staffing plans
Control purchasing in alignment with group purchasing agreements
Monitor financial performance and support profitability
Negotiate contracts and optimize pricing strategies
Staff & Personnel Management
Lead hiring, training, and performance reviews for clinical and non-clinical staff
Conduct monthly staff meetings and manage workforce productivity
Ensure accurate employee documentation and promote development opportunities
Clinical Services & Compliance
Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards
Oversee departments such as nursing, central supply, and medical records
Coordinate third-party services for lab, radiology, pharmaceuticals, and more
Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of medical equipment
Quality Improvement & Safety
Lead the quality improvement program and infection control processes
Monitor key performance indicators and service outcomes
Identify and resolve patient care quality issues
Medical Staff Coordination
Manage credentialing and collaborate with the Medical Director
Facilitate positive relationships between clinical staff and physicians
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field)
7+ years of progressive experience in ASC or healthcare administration
Proven success in managing surgical center operations
Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, budgeting, and staffing
Willingness to travel up to 25% across the Midwest
Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with surgical center operations software/tools
Knowledge of accreditation standards (e.g., AAAHC, CMS, Joint Commission)
Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills
