Youth For Tomorrow is a residential facility established in 1986. Role and Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and implement all substance related services.

Conduct and supervise intakes by administering a bio/psycho/social/spiritual substance abuse/mental health assessment and able to determine level of care needed for client using the ASAM placement criteria.

Be proactive in the counseling support on an on-going basis YFT staff and team members.

Assess all new residents using the SASSI (or equivalent instrument) and ASAM criteria for Adolescent/Adults.

Facilitate the following services but not limited to:

Chemical Education-Psycho-Educational Group for Adolescent Male and Female Groups

Overcomers’ 12-step group-Adolescent/Adult Male and Female Groups

Individual Assessments

Individual/Family Counseling

Document into Kipu (organizations EHR database) individual, all groups, and family counseling sessions).

Plan, schedule, and implement all substance related services to residents. Chemical Education to all RTC residents and Specialized Groups for those who require the additional services.

Conduct intakes by administering a bio/psycho/social/spiritual substance abuse/mental health assessment and able to determine level of care needed for client using the ASAM placement criteria for Adolescent.

Document individual attendance for each participant in all groups.

Conduct/supervise and coordinate random alcohol and drug screens for Residents participating in treatment.

Document individual attendance for each resident in all groups.

Create a relapse prevention plan with Client and the responsible adult in a minor prior to initial home visit and/or at the 60/day onset of Drug Counseling.

Conduct/supervise and coordinate random alcohol and drug screens for Resident’s participating in treatment.

Attend all training mandated by YFT with prior approval from Supervisor.

All duties and responsibilities will support meeting the structured program of care outlined in DBHDS and DSS state standards (DBHDS: 12VAC 35-46-800; DSS: 22 VAC 40-151-720).

Other duties as assigned by the CEO and/or Vice President of Residential Services

Qualifications

Licensed and/or Certified by the Board of Counseling under the Commonwealth of Virginia and Department of Health Professions, minimum, as a CSAC.

Master’s Degree and licensure (LSATP, LMHP), or LMHP-e (eligibility for licensure) to provide counseling services.

Knowledge of drug policy and drug screening techniques and the ASAM Assessment Criteria.

Possess skills and abilities to assess treatment needs and deliver appropriate interventions.

Ability to communicate with residents, parents, and staff.

Dependability to meet client needs as scheduled.

Clinical writing skills to meet requirements of DBHDS client record reviews.

Effectively design and implement a Substance Abuse program in a residential environment.

Ability to remain flexible with scheduling to include evenings/weekends.
