Position Specifics The Department of Radiation Oncology at Penn State College of Medicine seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to support a diverse portfolio of oncology research studies, including basic science, therapeutic, observational, and translational research. The CRC will independently manage operational, regulatory, administrative, and data-related aspects of research projects, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable federal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain research databases; support data collection, management plans, and quality assurance activities
Prepare, review, submit, and maintain regulatory and compliance documentation (e.g., IRB, Clinical Trials Office)
Assist with grant and proposal preparation, award administration, and research submissions
Provide operational oversight for clinical research projects, including management of study timelines, deliverables, and workflows
Coordinate research activities across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including sponsors and collaborating institutions
Develop study-specific operating procedures, workflow processes, manuals, and documentation
Organize and coordinate meetings, trainings, and presentations; prepare agendas and facilitate training sessions
Monitor study progress, identify and resolve project issues, and generate reports or presentations for investigators and stakeholders
Manage study budgets and resources; track expenses and process financial transactions in alignment with study guidelines
Maintain accurate records for personnel certifications, training completion, and compliance documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field
Prior experience in clinical research coordination within an academic or healthcare setting preferred
Familiarity with mobile and internet technology, remote data capture (i.e., REDCap) and basic data analysis
Minimum Education, Work Experience & Required Certifications Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Background Checks/Clearances This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Salary & Benefits The salary range for this position is $56,200.00 - $81,500.00.
