Thursday / Friday: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm; every other weekend 6:30 am – 7:00 pm (holiday and call required; shift can change based on departmental needs)
Job Summary
The CT Technologist provides CT imaging for patients to assist physicians in expediting needed care. The role requires quality, efficiency, and service excellence, and is located at the Good Samaritan Campus.
Responsibilities Perform diagnostic and interventional procedures per department protocols.
Provide feedback on images for improvement as needed.
Address customer needs appropriately according to age‑specific, service‑specific, and disease‑specific criteria.
Utilize proper procedure for patient identification.
Assist in a quality assurance review to maintain professional standards.
Maintain patient efficiency by spending the most appropriate amount of time for each task and interaction.
Adhere to UK HealthCare values in interactions with patients, coworkers, physicians, and all external/internal customers.
Maintain privacy and confidentiality.
Qualifications Required education: AA.
Required related experience: 0 years.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
Kentucky State Radiation Operator License at time of hire.
Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
Computed Tomography (CT) certification within one year of hire.
Preferred: at least one year of CT experience.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; performing tasks with repetitive motions; intermittently standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods; and occasionally working at heights above four feet and/or in confined spaces. The role also involves a regular to occasional risk of injury from moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; exposure to loud noises, temperature extremes, hazardous chemicals and fumes (including waste, radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood‑borne or airborne pathogens), and combative/violent people.
