Nuclear Medicine Department Highlights

Small Team

Basic Nuclear exams

High volume of cardiac exams

What You Need

Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or nuclear medicine required or

Associates Degree preferred

2 Years in nuclear medicine preferred

ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Nuclear Medicine upon hire required or

CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist upon hire required and

CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist either by the TDH or TMB upon hire required and

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

What You Will Do

Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to exam

Position patient to correct anatomical area of interest

Perform complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations

Adjust technique parameters appropriately for age related factors

Assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique

Maintain attention to details

Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, make technique adjustments, or repeat procedures as needed. Utilize proper downtime procedures for PACS and HIS/RIS

Correctly send and transfer images to PACS

Print laser images, CD, or send images from modality, Ambra, or PACS

Coordinate with Scheduling and other modalities for patient care
