2AB is a 36-bed Neuro Progressive Care Unit serving patients with medically complex needs. The unit sees a variety of neurological patients. We are currently seeking experienced PCU nurses, and we are accepting applications from candidates with Telemetry, ICU, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Medical/Surgical, or other acute/critical care backgrounds. We are looking to fill full-time day shifts, 3-12 shifts per week, 7:00am to 7:30pm, with rotating weekends/holidays. A 18% night shift differential is available when applicable, plus a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential. Responsibilities
Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Review patient history and physical with patient/family and with the health care team; review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to the physician and other caregivers. Complete assessments and reassessments as needed. Formulate a plan of care, including discharge planning, using assessment data and input from patient, family, and health team. Develop realistic, measurable goals in collaboration with the patient/family. Plan care with the multidisciplinary team and revise as patient needs change. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team. Provide care according to physician orders and the nursing plan of care while complying with policies and regulatory requirements. Delegate appropriately and supervise care provided by licensed staff and other personnel. Communicate clearly to ensure continuity of care across the care team; document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensure timely and accurate documentation of orders. Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, adjust the plan of care as needed, and assess progress toward goals in collaboration with the health care team. Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice; participate in professional development, mentoring, and unit leadership as appropriate. Interact with patients, families, and staff across departments and external contacts to promote safe and effective care and coordinate with the broader health care team. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or valid compact license), or an appropriate temporary/interim license. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. A minimum of one year of experience in an acute care setting is generally expected; experience in the specialty area is preferred. Banner Registry and Travel positions require recent acute care experience in the past 12 months. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Professional certification is preferred.
