Most of your time will be spent facilitating high‑impact intervention sessions. The remainder involves leading brief motivation touchpoints that maintain momentum and goal achievement. What You Will Be Doing

Plan and execute virtual small‑group and individualized reading intervention sessions for grades 3–8 students

Analyze reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction promptly

Adapt activities to accommodate multiple reading proficiency levels, including specialized support for dyslexia and associated reading challenges

Monitor student progress systematically and apply findings to inform subsequent session planning

Facilitate structured motivation touchpoints that cultivate confidence, resilience, and recognition of growth

Deliver large, whole‑class lessons or present fixed curriculum content

Execute a pre‑scripted program without tailoring to individual student needs and immediate feedback

Function as a passive "software supervisor" lacking substantive instruction and student connection

Virtual Reading Specialist Key Responsibilities Take ownership of grades 3–8 student outcomes—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational guidance that establishes confidence.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or closely aligned discipline

Reading intervention certification or endorsement (such as Arizona Reading Specialist K‑12 or equivalent state credential)

Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or comparable structured literacy methodologies)

Minimum 2 years of experience providing small‑group or individualized reading interventions for grades 3–8 students

Demonstrated experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties

Proficiency in interpreting progress monitoring data and applying insights to plan and modify instruction

Proven capacity to engage and manage students in virtual environments through clear, motivating communication

Full‑time availability aligned with U.S. business hours (Monday–Friday; 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. PT)

Working with us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $30 USD/hour, which equates to $60,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
