What You Will Do As a Principal EH&S Specialist, you’ll support the Raytheon EH&S team’s ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at the Andover, MA site. This complex manufacturing site offers an opportunity to work with manufacturing and support teams to foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program.

Recognize, evaluate and control hazardous workplace conditions.

Take proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.

Work with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EHS requirements.

Execute initiatives, programs, reports and trainings across multiple EH&S disciplines to achieve and maintain compliance.

Audit and evaluate current policies, procedures and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Investigate, analyze and interpret data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place.

Interact with employees and promote relationships, learning the tasks employees perform and serve as a known and respected resource to the site employees. Build partnerships and influence across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.

Position requires limited travel for participation in company seminars, EHS audits and training opportunities.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, OR an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.

Experience implementing EHS programs and/or safety initiatives.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience managing EHS issues in a union work environment.

Experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.

Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.).

Project management and execution skills.

Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

Must be able to work well independently and within a team environment.

Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

MS/MA degree in Safety, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or other related field of study.

Salary Salary range: $86,800–$165,200 USD.
