Job Summary The Grocery Store Assistant Manager ensures the store runs efficiently and meets company standards for hospitality, safety, and environmental practices. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, managing inventory and vendor orders, maintaining compliance with cash‑handling procedures, and organizing stockrooms.
Job Specifications
Starting wage: $19.25 per hour.
Employment type: Summer seasonal 2026.
Shift type: Full time (hours available).
Minimum age: 18 years.
Housing availability: On‑site dormitory housing.
Job Responsibilities
Serve as liaison between the Manager and store associates.
Safeguard company inventory using proper security procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well‑stocked store.
Implement company cash register procedures, including cash, credit card, personal checks, and closing the register in the evening.
Place appropriate orders from outside vendors for beverages and grocery items.
Order operating supplies as directed by the manager.
Operate the shop within the budget set for payroll and control expenses in coordination with the store manager.
Inventory the shop at the close of the season under direction of Senior Retail staff.
Leverage employee abilities and talents to the best extent possible.
Organize the stockroom and related warehouse areas so merchandise is easily accessible.
Order liquor, wine, and beer on a weekly basis and take monthly inventory of deli items where applicable.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Supervisory experience and ability to motivate and direct people.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Windows‑based programs (Microsoft Office).
Prior experience with retail point‑of‑sale systems.
Clear and professional appearance.
Consistently lift up to 50 lbs.
Prior retail/grocery store management experience.
Minimum age of 21 for alcohol service per Wyoming regulations.
