In compliance with applicable legislation and the corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements, the candidate will manage the overall HSE programs such as risk assessment, workplace inspections, incident management, emergency response, safety training, and ensure their embedment in the organization. Support the CSC Lean Initiative through active engagement and participation in continuous process improvement from an HSE perspective. Essential Functions

Advise higher management regarding applicable HSE legal and corporate requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable HSE legal requirements; stay abreast of corporate and governmental regulatory standards and requirements by attending training sessions and studying published material; develop and administer safety and environmental policies and procedures. Interpret federal/state/local regulations to ensure compliance and coordinate with regulatory agencies to negotiate terms of compliance; complete applicable permits/reports. Develop and implement programs in line with the Corporate Health and Safety Management System (risk assessment, workplace inspection, machine safety, incident management, working at heights, etc.). Identify HSE training needs and develop appropriate risk-specific training (hazardous materials, forklift operations, etc.). Ensure individuals assigned with HSE responsibilities receive appropriate training (general managers, plant managers, maintenance, direct supervisors, etc.). Support direct supervisors to facilitate the implementation of HSE programs. Measure HSE performance and report results to the Tactical Committee and the Corporate Team. Seek continuous HSE improvement by controlling hazards and mitigating risk levels. Perform safety audits, inspections, and accident/incident investigations; observe employee activities and conditions; submit recommendations to management to correct deficiencies, eliminate hazards, and improve the program. Review safety statistics, accident reports, and safety audit results through team safety meetings to solicit improvement ideas and make recommendations. Encourage employee participation in safety programs through continual communication and committee involvement. Prepare, review, and submit accident/injury reports; obtain proper authorization and work with Human Resources to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed/filed. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a related health and safety field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing setting with OSHA 30 certification preferred, or minimum 2 years related experience in a non-manufacturing setting with OSHA 30 certification obtained within 6 months of employment. Thorough knowledge of safety principles and related Occupational Health and Safety legal requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization and teach others. Computer skills to navigate Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Occasional travel. Physical Demands

Frequent communication with others to exchange information. Frequent repetitive motions of wrists, hands and fingers. Frequent movement to accomplish tasks or move between worksites. Occasional tendency to move or lift up to 20 pounds. Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Constant use of computer for prolonged periods. Constant thinking and processing of information. Constant maintaining of concentration and focus on tasks. Work Environment

General office environment. May require occasional exposure to production areas with airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme temperatures; personal protective equipment is required when entering a manufacturing plant. Disclaimer
