Position Summary This position’s primary function is to safely maintain saws and machine centers. The role includes benching and sharpening saws, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the performance and safety of all machine centers.
Responsibilities
Sharpen round and band saws.
Sharpen steering tipping, side dressing, and profiling saws.
Pear and grind babbitt guides.
Ground band mill guides.
Help change saws on all saw machine centers.
Assist with the preventive maintenance program on all machine centers.
Bench round and band saws.
Weld cracked saws.
Maintain all machine center lube systems.
Level and align all sawing machine centers.
Perform preventive maintenance and maintain appropriate checklists.
Work overtime as required.
Qualifications
Three years minimum experience benching saws.
Three years minimum experience fitting, tipping, and side grinding.
Capability to work a swing shift (Monday‑Thursday, 4 pm‑2:30 am).
Compensation & Schedule Wage: $38.19 per hour ($79,435 per year before any shift differentials, overtime, and production bonuses). Production bonuses are possible for every employee each month, based on the plant site’s target goals.
Work schedule: Monday‑Thursday, 4 pm‑2:30 am, flexible as needed.
