Senior Software Engineer - Cybersecurity/Python
Location: North Chicago area or Dallas, Texas area.
Our global leading cutting edge healthcare (F500) client currently has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Engineer - Cybersecurity/Python.
What You’ll Do
Participate in a team-oriented environment to define and develop user interface, business rules, and data management applications.
Provide mentoring and guidance for more junior engineers.
Execute software development life cycle activities from software requirements, design, and implementation through design verification.
Develop, test and integrate software using current software technologies.
Estimate and plan own work activities, coordinate activities with other software engineers and review other software engineer's work.
Apply the latest software design and development tools and techniques as required.
Support software feature definition activities by working closely with software system engineers, developers, testers, and other subject matter experts.
Investigate on-market issues, determine appropriate corrections, and implement those corrections under our software engineering process.
Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline (Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering).
7 to 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6 years with a master’s degree.
Strong background in Python, .NET/C# or other scripting and SQL.
Extensive experience developing Windows Desktop applications utilizing .NET framework.
Experience in cryptographic standards and methods, detailed knowledge of cryptographic key management.
Knowledge of threat modeling, vulnerability and compliance assessments and mitigation.
Experience with secure configuration/hardening of systems.
Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, DISA STIGs, policies, and procedures is a plus.
