SOCIAL WORK SUPERVISOR, HEALTH SERVICES

Main Purpose of Job This position provides oversight for all recovery-based programming within the Division of Behavioral Health Services, including Community Peer Services, Recovery Coordination for Pregnant and Postpartum Women with Children, START, and Substance Exposed Newborn (SEN) cases referred by Washington County Department of Social Services. The Supervisor also supervises the Registered Peer Supervisor who leads a team of Peer Recovery Specialists.

Minimum Qualifications Education:

Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.

Experience:

Four years of clinical social work services in a healthcare or treatment setting following the receipt of an approved Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.

NOTE Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes for the required experience, on a year‑for‑year basis.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

License as a Master Social Worker (approved for independent practice), Certified Social Worker or Certified Social Worker‑Clinical issued by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.

Employee may be required to possess an appropriate operator's license if duties require operating a vehicle.
