Background Screening

A motor vehicle records screening will be conducted prior to employment.

This position requires a criminal background check and the submission of a criminal history disclosure form.

Applicants must have no felony convictions and agree to release all relevant records to the appointment authority.

Fingerprint samples and a pre‑employment drug screening are required.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Minimum of two years full‑time professional work in child welfare services, including, but not limited to, social, psychological, or correctional counseling or case management; volunteer services coordination; or juvenile classification coordination.

Special Qualifications:

At least 21 years of age.

U.S. citizen.

Valid driver’s license.

Good moral character as determined by investigation.

Must pass all required background and drug tests.

No felony convictions.

Agree to release all criminal history records.

Provide fingerprint sample per TBI prescription.

Overview This classification is responsible for professional case management work of considerable difficulty and lead work of routine difficulty. The employee leads and trains subordinates in case management for children under the State’s supervision, in State custody, or at risk of State custody, and their families.

Responsibilities

Serve as a mentor to less‑experienced case management staff, providing guidance for complex cases.

Participate in multi‑disciplinary teams, including CPS Investigative Team, Foster Care Review Board, and Community Advisory Board.

Determine abuse or neglect, assess risk, create safety plans, recommend permanency or termination of parental rights, monitor adoptive/foster families, recruit foster parents, conduct home visits, and coordinate visitation.
