Overview and Responsibilities We are seeking qualified Respiratory Therapists (RRT/CRT/RN) to educate, train, and monitor patients using ventilators, PAP therapy, home oxygen, and other respiratory equipment. You’ll assess patient needs and communicate findings to physicians within our patient‑specific care model.

PRN Details As an Rotech employee you can create your own schedule by accepting a set number of set‑ups per week. You are paid per set‑up ranging from $5.00 to $100.00 per service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain a complete listing of all current respiratory patients.

Provide initial and ongoing phone contacts with all respiratory patients per Rotech policy and procedure.

Provide in‑home visits to patients per Rotech’s policy and procedure.

Conduct patient assessment per Rotech’s policy and physician orders. Assessments may include:

Verbal assessment (patient history, symptom review, etc.)

Physical assessment (lung auscultation, blood pressure, etc.)

Diagnostics (spirometry, oximetry, sleep studies)

Provide patient education. Education may include:

Respiratory equipment use and maintenance

Physician’s prescription for equipment

Importance of compliance with prescription

Benefits of therapy

Potential consequences of non‑compliance

Potential adverse reactions/side effects from therapy

Set up all highly technical respiratory equipment, including but not limited to:

Invasive Ventilator

Noninvasive Ventilator

Infant Monitors

Other high‑tech equipment (cough assist, negative pressure ventilation, IPPB, etc.)

Monitor ongoing function of highly technical respiratory equipment, including:

Invasive Ventilator

Noninvasive Ventilator

Infant Monitors

Other high‑tech equipment (cough assist, negative pressure ventilation, IPPB, etc.)

Maintain documentation of all services and work performed per Rotech’s policies and procedures.

Assume on‑call responsibilities for phone consultations during non‑business hours per policy.

Adjust ventilator settings according to patient assessment and alignment with Rotech policy.

Support orientation and training of other personnel at direction of the Area Manager.

Perform other duties as required by state licensure law.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as defined by the Area Manager.

Employment Requirements

Background investigation.

Drug screen (when applicable).

Valid driver’s license in state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable).

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Credentials as a respiratory therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) preferred; other medical credentials may be acceptable depending on state licensure laws.

Must be licensed in primary state of home office as required by state law and provide a copy of license to the location.

May be required to obtain license in neighboring states as needed.

Preferred Education and Experience

Completion of an accredited program/degree in respiratory care.

Background in nursing or other paramedical training acceptable per state laws.

Home respiratory care experience preferred.

Degree in respiratory therapy or related science preferred.

One year of related work experience preferred.

Office equipment: fax machine, copier, printer, phone, computer, tablet.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry office equipment at times.

Close vision to small print on computer/tablet/paperwork.

Contact with patients and equipment potentially exposed to contagious pathogens.

Occasional lifting and transporting patient equipment.

Required to sit, walk, stand, talk, and listen.

Compliance with Rotech Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy, including medical evaluation, annual recertification, and staying clean‑shaven per OSHA.
