Externship Experience Includes Externs will work closely with our veterinarian and team members to gain valuable, real-world experience in:
Taking patient histories and performing physical exams
Developing diagnostic and treatment plans
Assisting with (or performing) surgical and dental procedures
Participating in internal medicine, wellness, and behavioral case workups
Practicing communication skills with both clients and the veterinary team
You won’t just shadow—you’ll be actively engaged in the day-to-day clinical work, with mentorship tailored to your interests and experience level.
Program Details Location: Houston, TX Duration: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4 weeks (flexible based on student/hospital schedules) Open to: veterinary students Stipend: Up to $2,000 available for students in the clinical phase Practice Focus: Small animal general medicine, surgery, dentistry, behavior
