Kitchen Associate – 1st Shift at Kettle Cuisine

Job Summary This position exists in various departments (Prep, Kitchen, Filling, Packaging) to produce finished product. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job‑related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment such as kettles, baggers, sous vide packaging sealers, steam ovens, dicers, tumblers, ovens, etc.

Monitor temperatures of product.

Read and execute recipe procedures.

Prepare and cook sauces, soups, proteins, grains, etc.

Measure and weigh ingredients.

Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality standards and GMP, including allergen handling.

Maintain documentation demonstrating regulatory compliance for HACCP, USDA and FDA mandates.

Perform quality and food safety checks including data sheets and other controlled documents.

Clean, assemble, operate, and troubleshoot machinery.

Follow all established safety protocols (LOTO, Work at Height, Wet, Cold Environment) and wear required PPE (safety glasses, steel toe boots, gloves, aprons, sleeves, ear plugs, hard hat, etc).

Perform tasks to support other departments when directed.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

High school diploma or GED; or equivalently combined education and experience.

Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.

Must be available to work overtime and weekends.

Ability to learn system logic and operate HMI/control panels and fine‑tune equipment for minor and major adjustments.

Self‑directed, able to keep oneself busy and flow to the work.

Ability to multi‑task and prioritize effectively.

High ethical standards, strong values, integrity; drive to deliver results, pride in personal and team performance.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and internal/external customers.

Demonstrated minimum proficiency in English to ensure effective training and ongoing communications about safety and quality issues.

Work Conditions and Physical Effort

Extensive standing and walking.

Climb and balance.

Stooping, kneeling, crouching.

Bending, twisting.

Repetitive motion (hands/wrists).

Occasional physical exertion, including lifting objects up to 40 pounds.

Mental & Visual Demands

Moderate concentration to effectively execute moderately complex tasks.

Some visual effort required periodically.

Work Environment and Hazards

Manufacturing setting with exposure to heat & cold (0‑100 °F), dust, or other minor inconveniences.

Exposure to hazards that might cause minor injury.

May need to work weekends or overtime as required.
