Assistant Shop Manager – Job Description Description & Leadership Expectations Drybar is a fun, fast-paced, and most importantly team-focused environment. We depend on each team member to understand their role and expectations, so everyone is contributing to the success of the team. The Assistant Shop Manager is a key member of the Drybar leadership team and acts as the Shop Manager’s right hand. This role is responsible for supporting daily shop operations, driving sales performance, coaching team members, ensuring policy compliance, protecting the client experience, and maintaining the Drybar Heart & Soul culture. The Assistant Manager ensures smooth daily execution and consistent application of brand standards across both service and operations. Job Summary / Purpose The Assistant Shop Manager helps oversee all shop functions and leads the team in delivering The Drybar Experience. This role supervises shift operations, leads the client experience, trains and develops staff, assists with hiring and onboarding, manages inventory workflows, supports scheduling and labor management, and handles client and team escalations with professionalism. The Assistant Manager is a cultural leader, a sales driver, and a key operational partner to the Shop Manager. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions Client Experience Leadership Lead the client journey from check-in through check-out, ensuring Drybar standards are met every single time. Resolve escalated client concerns and provide consistent, policy-aligned service recovery. Coach Stylists and Bartenders in real time to maintain hospitality, pacing, and professionalism. Team Leadership, Coaching & Accountability Oversee daily staffing, floor flow, client assignments, and break schedules. Provide in-the-moment coaching, correction, and redirection to maintain expectations and standards. Conduct follow-up conversations and assist with performance documentation. Mentor team members and model strong, consistent leadership behavior. Support hiring, interviewing, and selection of our front desk staff AKA Bartenders. Training & Development Train new Bartenders- including systems training, guest experience, and Drybar standards. Support skill development in areas such as guest communication, sales, add-ons, membership selling, and time management. Ensure all new hires understand handbook policies, non-negotiables, and shop procedures. Sales & KPI Ownership Actively promote awareness of shop goals (Memberships, Add-Ons, SPC, Retail, Client Count). Lead sales coaching conversations throughout the shift and maintain a motivating environment. Ensure all promotions are executed correctly and consistently communicated. Review daily/weekly performance metrics and partner with the Shop Manager to build improvement plans. Operational Excellence Manage books in Booker, ensuring proper pacing, coverage, and client flow. Maintain adherence to all company policies, including timekeeping accuracy. Ensure shop cleanliness, readiness, and organization at all times. Ensure team follows safety practices, emergency procedures, and compliance regulations. Address or escalate incidents, injuries, or serious client concerns appropriately. Inventory & Supply Management Oversee daily supply checks and restocking. Assist with ordering inventory and supplies when requested or in the Shop Manager’s absence. Support monthly inventory counts to ensure accuracy and cost control. Maintain consistent back bar and station readiness. Administrative Responsibilities Assist with scheduling support, labor planning conversations, and shift coverage decisions. Support paperwork, reporting, documentation, and follow-up tasks delegated by the Shop Manager. Participate in leadership meetings and trainings. Recruiting, Onboarding & Culture Assist with candidate screening, interviewing, and giving hiring feedback. Support new hire onboarding, orientation flow, and first-week success tasks. Lead by example and reinforce Drybar’s Heart & Soul values through daily actions. Support team morale by celebrating wins, recognizing strong performance, and promoting a positive shop environment. Additional Responsibilities Serve as acting shop manager in the Shop Manager’s absence, when delegated. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities The Assistant Shop Manager directly supervises Bartenders and Stylists on assigned shifts and acts as the in-shop leader when the Shop Manager Job Competencies – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Client Experience You are the champion of The Drybar Experience. Lead by example. Coach in the moment. Correct inconsistencies immediately. Ensure every guest receives a consistent, luxury-level service — every shift, every shop, every time. Team Performance & Shop Standards Delegate effectively, ensure expectations are met, reinforce accountability, and support the team in meeting business goals. Supporting the Shop Manager You are the Shop Manager’s partner. This includes: Communicating Pipeline updates clearly and consistently. Leading awareness of promotions and sales goals. Supporting scheduling, staffing conversations, and labor management. Running huddles, check-ins, or meetings when needed. Driving culture and team morale. Maintaining accurate inventory and placing orders when directed. Representing leadership with professionalism at all times. Qualifications Must have 2+ years of leadership experience in previous retail, salon or spa environment Must be able to work a Wednesday-Sunday schedule Benefits Salary range starts at $45,000 annually with monthly bonus opportunity Health Care benefits Employee discounts
