UNDERSTANDING The Quality Control Manager leads the QC team to ensure compliance, oversight, and continuous improvement across all production areas. This role safeguards product integrity, drives a strong quality culture, and partners with Operations and cross-functional teams to maintain regulatory compliance (FDA, cGMP) and manage risks through data-driven decisions. This person is a transformation leader. They look at systems and processes as starting points with opportunities to provide additional automation, simplification, and standardization within all systems. They see data as their primary source of truth and are proactive looking for trends to identify issues. They guide their teams using the core principles of ACG. Ensure documentation integrity and readiness for FDA and third-party audits. Conduct gap assessments to align with SOPs and regulatory requirements. Team Leadership & Development Supervise, coach, and develop the QC team to operate as proactive quality leaders. Provide regular training and development opportunities focused on auditing, root cause analysis, and quality risk management. Ensure team members are equipped with the tools and knowledge to perform oversight duties consistently and effectively. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as a liaison between QC and Operations to ensure shared ownership of quality and smooth issue escalation. Participate in and lead routine quality review meetings to communicate trends, audit outcomes, and areas for improvement. Partner with Operations, QA, and other departments to investigate deviations and drive corrective actions. Continuous Improvement & Risk Management Analyze quality data (e.g., audit results, defect rates, process deviations) to identify patterns and initiate improvements. Lead or support root cause investigations and CAPA development for systemic quality issues. Regularly review and improve the QC oversight model to adapt to operational changes, new regulations, or audit feedback. Cultural Leadership Promote a strong quality culture by reinforcing accountability, transparency, and a preventive mindset across the organization. Recognize quality ownership behaviors within Operations and QC. Communicate quality wins, lessons learned, and improvement actions clearly and constructively. QUALIFICATIONS · Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. · Experience: 10+ years in quality within regulated food/dietary supplement manufacturing; 8+ years in leadership. · Knowledge: FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 111/117), cGMP, quality systems. · Preferred Certifications: PCQI, HACCP, GMP/cGMP, Internal Auditor (ISO, SQF, NSF). · Skills: Internal auditing, root cause analysis, regulatory compliance, leadership, communication, data analysis, and attention to detail.
