About the Role The VP, Authentication Senior Manager leads the company's Customer IAM (CIAM) authentication service function. The role reports to the Global Head of Authentication and requires deep expertise in IAM strategy, architecture, and engineering, along with subject matter expertise in authentication services for both internal and customer-facing applications. The position manages engineering and operations teams, oversees vendor relationships, drives POCs and negotiation, and interfaces with audit and regulatory teams.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute the delivery of Authentication services (Customer IAM).
Work with business‑aligned IT managers to define business requirements, target‑state processes, implementation plans, and ensure compliance with enterprise IT standards.
Ensure Authentication platform complies with relevant security standards, regulations, and industry frameworks; conduct regular audits and assessments.
Lead the design and development of Authentication solutions that enforce organizational security policies and access‑management requirements.
Build, configure, and architect authentication platforms such as Okta, Ping, and Azure, implementing technologies like SSO, registration, identity proofing, MFA (FIDO, TOTP, biometrics, etc.).
Integrate Authentication services with broader security solutions (Identity & Access Governance, Privileged Access, Cybersecurity services).
Define, enhance, and oversee enterprise‑wide authentication processes, controls, and risk approvals.
Manage day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of authentication and related security systems.
Represent the IAM organization on large‑scale technology projects, regulatory reviews, and audits.
Communicate business risks and technical challenges to stakeholders.
Foster a culture of action, collaboration, innovation, customer focus, and results across the organization.
Skills And Qualifications
10+ years of experience in cybersecurity and IAM, managing engineering, strategy, processes, controls, and related services.
8+ years of production support and implementation experience with IAM business processes and technologies.
8+ years of experience with Authentication products (Azure AD, Active Directory, role‑based access control, MFA, SSO & related standards such as OAuth(2), OIDC, Kerberos, LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, PKI).
Experience with third‑party service providers and managing third‑party service agreements during separations or divestitures.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to engage across multiple levels of management and business functions.
8+ years of experience with regulatory requirements (SOX, SOC1, NYDFS, GDPR, PCI, MAS, etc.) and frameworks (NIST, ITIL, SDLC).
Experience overseeing 20+ resources in a matrixed environment.
Hands‑on experience with platforms such as SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, Ping, Quest, AWS, Azure, ServiceNow, and related products.
Knowledge of cryptography, database troubleshooting, and security monitoring (e.g., SIEM such as Splunk).
Exposure to DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Experience supporting 24x7 security operations (L1/L2/L3).
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Compensation The anticipated salary range is $140,000 to $180,000. Additional discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package are available. Final compensation depends on factors such as geography, skills, experience, and qualifications.
Work Location Jersey City, NJ; Houston, TX; or Durham, NC. The role follows a hybrid working policy combining office and remote work.
Estimated Travel Up to 25% travel.
