Scope of Work The Warehouse Specialist provides logistics and material handling support for U.S. Army operations, including receipt, storage, inventory control, distribution, and maintenance of supplies and equipment. The position ensures all warehouse functions are performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with contractual, company, and government requirements.
Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, supplies, and equipment against shipping documents.
Process and document all receipts, issues, and returns in accordance with government and company procedures.
Store materials in designated locations ensuring segregation, rotation, and proper environmental control.
Perform inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies as required by the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
Maintain accurate records in automated and/or manual inventory systems (e.g., GCSS-Army, G-Army, or site-specific database).
Prepare materials for shipment or redistribution, ensuring compliance with applicable packaging and labeling requirements.
Safely operate material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, in accordance with OSHA and site safety policies.
Support government property accountability and assist with audits, inspections, and reports.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment; comply with all safety, security, and environmental regulations.
Assist with coordination of transportation, delivery schedules, and inventory movement between warehouses and customers.
Cross-train and provide support to the Dining Facility (DFAC) operations as required to meet mission and contractual needs.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management; military or government experience preferred.
Working knowledge of inventory management practices, documentation, and control procedures.
Must be able to pass a forklift physical and obtain and maintain a forklift/MHE license or certification.
Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and inventory systems.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work around food products, including common allergens; exposure to food allergens (e.g., nuts, dairy, strawberries) may occur during storage, handling, or transport.
Ability to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance; must be able to obtain an interim clearance prior to start.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver"s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds routinely. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday.
Must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
May be required to work on-call, alternate, or extended shift schedules—inclusive of weekends and holidays—to meet mission requirements.
Employees may be required to remain on-site for extended periods during scheduled exercises or real-world events to support mission continuity.
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes. Must be able to work in confined storage areas, at heights, and around equipment or hazards while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
The work environment may involve exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and other typical warehouse conditions at a secure government installation.
All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening, which may include but is not limited to a criminal background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5-panel drug test, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
