Scope of Work: The Stock Clerk position is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining accountability of food items, supplies, materials, and related inventory supporting Dining Facility (DFAC) operations. This role ensures accurate inventory control, proper storage, and timely distribution of items in accordance with DFAC procedures, food safety standards, and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming food items, supplies, and materials against requisitions and delivery documentation.
Store items in designated locations according to established inventory control and food safety procedures.
Issue food items and supplies to authorized DFAC personnel and maintain accurate issuance records.
Conduct routine and periodic inventories and assist with reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages, spoilage, damage, or expired items to supervision.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the storage, stockroom, and receiving areas.
Ensure proper handling and storage of food products in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
May be cross-trained to support other DFAC functions (e.g., dishwashing, food service support, or warehouse activities) as needed to meet operational and mission requirements.
Support DFAC operations during exercises or mission-critical events, which may require remaining on-site.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience working in a military dining facility (DFAC) or comparable institutional food service environment is preferred.
Must satisfactorily complete Food Service Medical Clearance (Tri Service Food Code - TB Med 530).
Ability to obtain and maintain a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance.
Must be able to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to access a U.S. Government worksite.
Must be able to work around food products, including common allergens; exposure to food allergens (e.g., nuts, dairy, strawberries) may occur during storage, handling, or transport.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in DFAC storage, receiving, and stockroom areas with exposure to varying temperatures, including refrigerated or dry storage environments.
Fast-paced DFAC food service environment with exposure to heat, noise, sharp tools, and cleaning chemicals; requires adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
Regular exposure to detergents, degreasers, and sanitizing agents used in commercial dishwashing and sanitation operations; appropriate PPE is provided and required.
Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, standing, and reaching for long periods of time.
May require the use of carts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shifts as needed to support mission requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
To meet contractual obligations, employees may also be required to remain on-site for extended periods during scheduled exercises or real-world events (e.g., 24-hour lockdowns).
