Job Description The Team Leader reports directly to the Line Leader (for Day Shift) or Supervisor (for Night Shift) and serves as an integral member of a High-Performance Work Team (HPWT). Each HPWT consists of an Autonomous Maintenance Functional Leader (Team Leader), Progressive Maintenance Functional Leader, Safety Functional Leader, Quality Functional Leader and a General Operator. Within this structure, the Team Leader will assume the role of the team’s Autonomous Maintenance Functional Leader, leading operational excellence, safety, and product quality through active engagement and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Follow all Duracell site and global Safety and Quality policies, standards, and procedures.
Grow equipment, defect handling and other operational capability of fellow line technicians.
Take ownership of your team’s performance and results during your assigned shift.
Lead and operate production machinery as part of a high-performance team within your assigned area(s).
Perform equipment changeovers, line adjustments, and machine setups to meet production targets and schedules.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with Duracell’s Good Housekeeping Standards.
Conduct thorough shift handoffs when accepting or turning over a production line.
Review and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) for current and upcoming production orders.
Identify, document, and resolve equipment defects promptly to minimize downtime.
Perform technical-level troubleshooting and basic maintenance repairs.
Partner with the Progressive Maintenance Functional Leader (PMFL) to diagnose and correct equipment failures.
Participate in root cause analysis for recurring issues to drive long-term improvements.
Escalate issues according to the site escalation process to ensure timely resolution.
Lead team in Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Working knowledge of production/packaging environment and machinery.
Strong leadership background.
Ability to read and write effectively.
Strong mechanical/troubleshooting skills preferred.
Good communication/interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts and work up to a (12) hour shift.
Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Able to walk for extended amounts of time.
