Base pay range $25.00/hr - $34.00/hr

The Prepress Coordinator plans, directs and coordinates prepress functions to include managing complex electronic files, proofs and film according to company specifications and quality criteria which meets customer quality and time requirements. Requires technical graphics and graphics experience; ability to produce and accurately interpret color corrections; understand color management. Must have experience using Adobe Illustrator to distort and rip files through Esko.
**Please note, this is a very technical position. Not a Graphic Designer.**
We are seeking someone with wide‑web flexographic experience.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities (Note, activities that occupy approx. 90% of time):
On time, accurate file manipulation of customer supplied artwork, file transfers, accurate time and materials charges;
Preflight artwork files for feedback to customers to ensure accurate printability
Creates die lines and prepares art files for flexo printing.
Responsible for timely follow-up with customers on proof Ok’s to ensure successful scheduling of print jobs
Creative design of artwork and/or illustration for all internal and external design;
Creation and completion of all internal documents, such as Artwork Quotations, Job Orders, Purchase Orders, Receipts and Invoicing.
Support Plate Room/Mounting Department
Employee is responsible for understanding and complying to the Food Safety Procedures and Policies that have been implemented in their job area or function.
Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities (Occupies balance of time):
Any other activities that relate to design and customer service as directed by supervisor.
Participate in quality improvement initiative to ensure customer satisfaction and that all jobs meet or exceed the customer’s expectation.
Skills/Abilities to Meet Job Requirements: Good communication skills – professional written and verbal; knowledge of digital file manipulation; ability to take direction and accomplish projects in a timely manner; ability to work independently and in a team environment; ability to perform multiple tasks and understand priorities; attention to detail; good Mac and PC skills; proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop; familiar with PC Windows based software.
Education and Experience Requirement: High School diploma or equivalent GED; 2 years prepress experience in desktop publishing and/or plate making; minimum 2‑year Technical Vocational degree in Graphic Arts preferred.
