Apprenticeship Program
Three-year apprenticeship with a total of 6,000 on‑the‑job training hours and 480 credit hours of classroom lecture.
Work approximately 34 hours per week at the hotel.
Must be 18 years old, have a high school diploma, and be a bona fide resident of Guam for not less than three years.
Agree to the terms and conditions of the program.
GCC Culinary students are welcome.
Responsibilities
Prepare meals in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in standard recipes.
Minimize waste and promote teamwork and quality service through regular communication and coordination with managers, team members, and other departments.
Follow safety and security procedures and policies; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
Maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees; speak using clear and professional language.
Move, lift, carry, push/pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Move up/down stairs, ladders, service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
