NEC is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of a Journeyman Lineman for its Reserve, New Mexico Office. The service territory covers 10,000 square miles, extending from Arizona’s White Mountains in the northeast to the northwestern region of New Mexico. NEC provides service to rural communities built on strong personal connections, where neighbors know one another—aligning with the cooperative’s values of trust, service, and community.
RESPONSIBILITIES Perform all phases of line and sub-station construction, operation, maintenance and service work in accordance with Navopache Electric standards and/or other governmental rules and regulations. Under the direct supervision of the Area Representative or other supervision depending on assignment and location.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School education (or equivalent).
Must have completed a formal four (4) year Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship program and must have a valid Journeyman card.
A thorough knowledge of all line materials, assemblies, equipment and apparatus, as well as RUS Specifications and NEC internal construction standards is required.
A thorough knowledge of Hot Line preventive maintenance work is required.
Special Skills
Good physical condition is required.
A thorough knowledge and understanding of all applicable safety rules, regulations and practices is required
Have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class “A” Arizona Commercial Driver’s License within 30 days of employment.
Live within a 30- mile radius of the reporting office.
HOURS OF OPERATION 4/10s The cooperative is currently on a 4/10 schedule (Monday through Thursday).
SALARY The rate of pay for a Journeyman Lineman is $51.50/hr.
