Full Time Chef needed
Hours: Range from 6am - 2pm or 10:30am-6:30pm (includes every other weekend)
Pay $19/hour
Forest Hill Heights is hiring a FT Chef who will work cooperatively with and contribute to all areas of food service management at the direction of the Culinary Director. This includes following proper procedures for receiving inventory, proper food storage, food handling, preparation and sanitation. It is the ultimate priority that dietary needs, expectations and desires of residents are fully met through quality meal preparation, food choice and portion sizes in accordance with each resident’s dietary needs, striving for both a positive dining experience and exemplary nutritional value with every meal.
The Chef provides leadership within the kitchen in meal preparation, cooking, meal presentation and overall kitchen decorum. In addition, his/her leadership will be evidenced among other kitchen personnel, dining room coordinators, waiters and waitresses and dishwashers in the absence or direction at Culinary Director.
The Chef position is a non-exempt, hourly position. It requires flexibility to include both early morning and evening hours as well as periodic weekend hours driven by the needs of the Culinary Director, the residents, and/or the facility. The position is “mission focused.”
Duties include but are not limited to:
Prepare assigned/schedules meals in accordance with seasonal menu cycle or as instructed by supervisor.
Prepare menus according to provided recipes.
Monitor and document food temperatures in accordance with the health department regulations (hot/cold).
Daily documentation of refrigerator and freezer temperatures (AM and PM).
Maintain order, discipline and safety within the kitchen at all times.
Follow all HACCP regulations in food handling and meal preparation.
Follow and adhere to all cleaning and sanitization guidelines.
Characteristics:

Ability to follow directions.
Team player, works well with others.
Dependable and trust-worthy.
Requirements:
Knowledge of food services sanitation regulations.
Understanding of and experience with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations.
Ability to read and write.
First Aid certified (we will help obtain).
