Job Title: Permanent Guest Teacher
Reports to: Building Principal
Contract: 178
Location: Assigned School(s) within the District
Position Summary The Permanent Guest Teacher provides reliable instructional support by filling in for absent teachers on a daily basis. This role ensures continuity of learning, maintains a positive classroom environment, and supports the academic mission of the district. Permanent Guest Teachers are assigned to a home school (or group of schools) and must be available to cover immediate instructional needs as they arise throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
Report to the assigned school each day and be ready to cover classes as needed, including last‑minute or same‑day assignments.
Provide instruction following lesson plans prepared by the classroom teacher.
Maintain classroom management, discipline, and a safe learning environment.
Adapt quickly to different grade levels, subject areas, and student needs.
Collaborate with school staff to support student learning and classroom operations.
Take attendance, supervise students, and follow school policies and procedures.
Report student progress, behavior, and incidents to the appropriate staff.
When not assigned to a classroom, assist with school‑wide duties (e.g., small group support, hall or lunch supervision, clerical support).
Qualifications
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
Prior experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple grade levels and subjects.
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Work Schedule & Compensation
Follows the district academic calendar.
Full‑time position with daily reporting to the assigned school.
Annual Salary and benefits according to the district's guest teacher pay scale.
