Job Description Summary Environmental Service Associates are dedicated to cleaning and maintaining defined areas of the organization. They provide customer service to all customers by cleaning and maintaining patient rooms, public areas, and service areas by completing tasks that support departmental and organization processes. This cleaning and maintaining work is defined by specific job/task assignments.
Responsibilities and Duties
Obtain assigned cleaning or maintenance requests from the automated system, daily assignment sheet, or verbal direction (40%). Perform other functions required of the position, such as moving beds or furniture needed to service customers or execute the cleaning process. Follow departmental/organizational processes and complete all paperwork needed to monitor departmental statistics.
Follow direction and proper usage of all equipment used in job performance, maintaining cleanliness. Notify appropriate area through the work order process and other defined paperwork to keep all equipment and miscellaneous items throughout the hospital (20%).
Keep all assigned carts and areas stocked to appropriate operating levels, including linen distribution (10%).
Be willing to complete other duties as assigned, including storeroom maintenance, to meet hospital cleanliness and safety standards (10%).
Use a high level of customer service throughout the OhioHealth organization to patients and all other customers (20%).
Minimum Qualifications
16- and 17-year-old individuals without a high school diploma or GED will be considered only if they have a valid work permit.
18-year-old individuals enrolled in high school do not need a high school diploma/GED/work permit to be considered.
High school diploma/GED preferred for individuals over 18 and not in high school.
