Position Overview
Underground Utility Locator
at Vannguard Utility Partners, Inc.
Responsible for locating underground utilities to protect construction sites. 10‑hour shift, full‑time, multiple locations.
Salary and Benefits Hourly wage: $20.00 – $26.00.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Drive a company vehicle directly from home to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relays.
Use provided mapping tools and locating equipment to identify underground utilities (electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines).
Mark utility locations with paint or flags and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel or appropriate authorities.
Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs per the established rotation schedule.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Attitude
Computer skills.
Valid driver’s license in the applicable state of employment.
Ability to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within the normal work schedule.
Subject to Vannguard’s Drug‑Free Workplace Program and completion of a pre‑employment drug screening.
Self‑manage and communicate with supervisors and clients in a timely manner.
Physical Demands
Drive 50–300+ miles daily as required by the assigned geographic locating area.
Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times a day.
Stand and walk lengthy distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
Sit for long periods while driving.
Lift and/or move 50–150 pounds.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Education & Licenses
High school or equivalent (required).
Driver’s license (required).
Schedule & Physical Setting
10‑hour shift, Monday‑Friday, on call, overtime possible.
Outdoor work; all weather conditions.
