Barista - MU CIM (Part-Time) — Muskegon, Michigan Location: 1903 Marquette Avenue, Muskegon, Michigan 49442, United States Job Description Join Baker College as a part-time Barista for the Culinary Institute of Michigan at the Muskegon Campus. You will provide customer service, prepare beverages and baked goods, and help maintain a clean, professional café environment in compliance with health standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare specialty coffees, teas, smoothies, and offer high-quality baked goods and pastries.
Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
Ensure a clean, well-organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with Muskegon County Health Department sanitation and food-safety procedures.
Manage weekly schedule, inventory, and product ordering.
Accurately process customer transactions and perform register balance functions.
Oversee quality control for baked goods and adhere to the professional dress code.
Attend all staff meetings, training, and events.
Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring new employees to uphold high café standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
At least one year of cashier and customer service experience preferred.
Previous experience as a Barista and familiarity with supervisory roles and register balancing are desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
The successful candidate will embody a student-first philosophy and act as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus.
