Summary of Position
Develop an effective youth ministry that will lead students into an intimate relationship with God by helping them know God, belong to family, discover purpose, and build the kingdom.
Create a discipleship strategy that includes an impactful group structure to help students grow in a Biblical worldview and Christian maturity.
Develop adult leaders who will invest in the spiritual lives of youth.

Team Dynamics
Lead a team comprised of both staff and volunteers.
Develop leaders and team members to ensure ministry excellence.
Oversee the organization and electronic storage of trainings and resources.
Define, communicate and monitor best practices and policies for each area.
Manage and oversee all scheduling of team members in a way that aligns with the culture and vision of Newlands Church, specifically a culture of rest and allowing them to attend a weekly service.
Oversee workflows to process new team members.
Provide leadership as a member of the Central Team to Youth staff and volunteers at all locations. Provide valuable insights into future Youth facility needs and portable contexts.
Oversee special events for Youth ministry, i.e. summer camps/gatherings, outreach, etc.
General Responsibilities
Pastoral leadership of Youth Ministry.
Must have ability to communicate vision to parents, students and volunteers.
Develop systematic team‑building and leadership development within the ministry.
Work with your direct oversight to develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive youth ministry that fits within the overall vision of the church.
Develop and implement a strategy to help students grow deeper in their knowledge of the Word of God and areas such as Biblical Worldview, apologetics, and evangelism.
Oversee weekly groups and monthly events for students from 6th to 12th grade.
Recruit, train, and develop Youth Ministry leaders and volunteers.
Develop and distribute volunteer resources necessary to lead effectively.
Partner with the Kid’s Pastor to develop cohesive ministries with an intentional transition from Kid’s Ministry to Youth Ministry.
Consistent involvement with the pastoral needs of the students and leaders.
Creating a service environment within the monthly gatherings that connects students to Growth Path, Build Team, worship, pray, build healthy community, and challenges them to grow as leaders within the church.
Student Groups
Oversee all Newlands Youth groups in coordination with the Newlands Groups team.
Research and determine principal student group locations.
Recruit and train adult/parent group leaders.
Select, edit, and distribute existing curriculum for group leaders.
Regular Events
Plan and host regular events for Youth Ministry.
Recruit and train a full complement of volunteers for events.
Effectively utilize existing curriculum to develop and deliver messages intended to engage students.
Work with the Worship department to create engaging worship for weekly events.
Annual Events
Utilize annual events to enhance the overall Youth Ministry, i.e. camps, retreats, mission trips.

Student Pastor (First Mt. Juliet) This Student Pastor role is centered on reaching and discipling students (grades 6–12) to know Christ, cultivate a deep love for God and others, and equip them to live missionally. The position involves teaching, leading volunteers, planning events, and fostering spiritual growth among students and their families.
Primary Responsibilities Students
Build Christ‑centered relationships with students in grades 6–12.
Maintain a visible presence at MJCA and local schools.

Maintain and evaluate ministry structure, policies, space, and equipment needs.
Prepare and manage the student ministry budget.
Perform bi‑annual performance reviews in coordination with the Senior Pastor.
Attend at least one ministry conference and one mission event annually.
Oversee the small group curriculum scope and sequence.
Requirements
Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ with a demonstrated life of integrity and spiritual maturity.

Successfully complete background checks and all child safety training.
Theological education and student ministry experience.
Maintain consistent on‑campus presence: Monday – Thursday (8 AM–4 PM), Wednesday evenings (5–8:00 PM), and Sundays (7 AM–12:30 PM).

Maintain open lines of communication with parents and seek regular feedback.
Facilitate forums or groups to encourage and equip parents of teens.
Leaders
Provide leadership and development to student ministry staff and volunteers.
Implement a robust recruitment, training, and retention plan for volunteers.
Ensure adherence to church safety policies and student protection protocols.
Encourage and create community among leaders through team‑building and appreciation efforts.
Provide ongoing equipping through training events, resources, and mentorship.
Outreach & Missions
Encourage students to engage schools and communities with the gospel.
Develop a missions strategy that progresses students from exposure to leadership in missions.
Lead students in local, national, and international mission opportunities.
Plan and execute outreach events that engage new students and families.
Partner with schools, local organizations, and outreach ministries in Mt. Juliet/Wilson County.
Organizational
Lead, coordinate, and evaluate all student ministry activities and programs.
Research and recommend relevant curriculum and teaching tools.
Develop systems for evaluating success based on attendance, engagement, and spiritual growth.
Partner with church leaders to ensure ministry alignment with the overall vision.
Execute intentional annual programming: camps, retreats, mission trips, outreach, and spiritual formation events.
Coordinate student chapels for MJCA.
Participate in staff outreach efforts, including visitation and new member engagement.
Maintain and evaluate ministry structure, policies, space, and equipment needs.
Prepare and manage the student ministry budget.
Perform bi‑annual performance reviews in coordination with the Senior Pastor.
Attend at least one ministry conference and one mission event annually.
Oversee the small group curriculum scope and sequence.
Requirements
Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ with a demonstrated life of integrity and spiritual maturity.
Be an active member of First Mt. Juliet, faithfully attending, serving, and giving.
Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills; be able to multitask while maintaining a positive outlook.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
Successfully complete background checks and all child safety training.
Theological education and student ministry experience.
Maintain consistent on‑campus presence: Monday – Thursday (8 AM–4 PM), Wednesday evenings (5–8:00 PM), and Sundays (7 AM–12:30 PM).
Participate in weekly staff meetings unless excused.
