Position Overview:
Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an experienced solo Class B CDL truck driver for a temporary schedule in Mechanicsville, VA. The role involves driving regional routes from VA to NC, with a Tuesday‑Friday schedule and no weekend work.
Schedule & Pay
Weekly pay: $1,200
Hourly rate: $28.00
Per diem: $40.00 per night (2 nights out per week)
Start time: 3:00 AM – 4:00 AM
Schedule: Tuesday – Friday (no weekends)
Route & Equipment
Route: SOLO to VA, NC – regional
Tractor: Straight truck
Trailer: 26’ straight truck
Equipment: Lift gate and manual pallet jack
Trucks are 36 months or newer with 24/7 roadside maintenance
Benefits

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
Identify and eliminate safety hazards
Maintain accurate records and logs
Load and unload freight as required by customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder drug test
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (previous employers for the last 3 years)
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide a valid CDL and endorsements for the position
Class A or Class B verifiable experience (tractor trailer or comparable vehicle)
Experience: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within last 5 years, or 5 years within last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
