Greenville University seeks an

Offensive or Defensive Assistant Coach

who is committed to mentoring student-athletes and integrating faith into a competitive football program. Based on experience, this position may also include

Special Teams Coordinator

responsibilities.

The Assistant Coach reports directly to the

Head Football Coach

and contributes to recruiting, player development, and daily football operations. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements Key Responsibilities Recruiting

Recruit incoming freshmen and transfer student-athletes in an assigned territory

Communicate with prospective student-athletes via phone, email, and in-person visits

Build and maintain relationships with high school coaches and administrators

Complete recruiting tasks as assigned by the Recruiting Coordinator

Offensive or Defensive Coaching

Support the mental, physical, and spiritual development of student-athletes

Assist in implementing and developing offensive or defensive systems under the Head Coach

Help organize and conduct practices, position meetings, and game planning

Assist in staff coordination and player evaluation

Travel & Logistics

Coordinate team travel, including transportation, lodging, and meals

Game & Program Operations

Assist with game-day management and special events

Support athletic department initiatives, including the annual Panther Golf Scramble

Perform administrative and sports information duties as assigned

Serve as an Assistant to the Head Football Coach in all aspects of program operations

Qualifications

Commitment to Greenville University’s Christian mission and values

Knowledge of football fundamentals and coaching techniques

Strong communication, organizational, and recruiting skills

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required

Collegiate or high school coaching experience preferred

Working Conditions

Physical Environment:

Work is routinely performed both indoor and outdoor, in office environment and in gyms, on playing fields, and other recreational environments.

Physical Demands:

Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, running, jumping, kneeling, pushing and pulling, climbing, stooping, occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds, travel to and from athletic events.

Mental Demands:

Fast paced environment. Ability to identify and support students in stressful, game related situations.

Salary Band: $29,250-$88,000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
