Job Description
Our Client is looking to bring in a computer savvy consultant at their Large Bristol, IN site (700-800 End-Users). This position helps improve the productivity of our client’s employees by acting as an escalation point within our Service Desk team and by being the single point of contact for information and problem resolution. This is accomplished by diagnosing and resolving problems with hardware, software, LANs, and servers in a timely and professional manner via telephone, ticket, email, remote tools and hands‑on support. Previous Helpdesk or Desktop Support or PC Technician experience is required. IT certifications are desirable for this role. This will be a first shift opportunity on a Contract to Hire basis. Pay will be negotiable based on experience.
Job Responsibilities
Assist with installs and repairs on standalone and networked printers (Windows environment), video conferencing equipment, and other peripherals.
Respond to and investigate customer inquiries, concerns, and issues via phone, ticket, and email in a timely and courteous manner.
Advanced troubleshooting of hardware and software issues related to desktop/laptop devices on Windows 7/10 systems either in‑person or remotely.
Provide support for identified Level 2 issues where solutions have already been documented in a Runbook/Knowledgebase.
Escalate complex and advanced issues to Level 3 support, with full descriptions of problems and actions taken prior.
Identify and suggest possible improvements on processes and procedures.
Maintain working knowledge of products and/or services.
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree a plus).
2‑4+ years related IT experience.
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Sec+, Cisco Academy, Microsoft 365 Certifications, or other IT related certifications.
Proven customer service skills; capable of comprehensive listening, versatile and flexible with a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
Experience with performing basic tasks in Active Directory Environment and Exchange/Office 365.
Knowledge of network structure, security, and function (Cisco/Meraki); network printer function; common office automation applications; VoIP phone functions; cell phones, smart phones, tablets; installing/re‑installing operating systems (Windows 7/10) and applications.
Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment; train users of all levels; develop a thorough understanding of the Client’s IST products and services.
