The Synthetic Turf Crew Lead is responsible for leading installation crews and ensuring synthetic turf projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. This role combines hands‑on installation work with crew supervision, jobsite coordination, and customer communication.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Quality Control
Lead and participate in synthetic turf installations, including:
Site preparation, grading, and base construction
Turf layout, cutting, seaming, and securing
Infill application and final grooming
Ensure all installations meet company quality standards and project specifications
Conduct jobsite pre‑walks and final walkthroughs as required
Identify and resolve installation issues in real time
Supervise and direct daily activities of installation crew members
Assign tasks and manage workflow to meet schedules
Train crew members on proper installation techniques and safety procedures
Ensure crew adherence to safety protocols, PPE requirements, and jobsite rules
Monitor crew productivity and workmanship
Jobsite Coordination
Review job scope, plans, and materials prior to installation
Confirm materials and equipment are staged and ready
Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, or site contacts as needed
Communicate progress, issues, and completion status to management
Documentation & Reporting
Ensure accurate tracking of materials used and returned
Document job progress, punch list items, and completion photos
Support final customer sign‑off and job closeout
Report any warranty, safety, or quality concerns promptly
Qualifications
Proven experience in synthetic turf installation or related construction trade
Prior leadership or foreman experience preferred
Strong understanding of base preparation, drainage, seaming, and infill methods
Ability to read and interpret plans and measurements
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying conditions
Leadership and team management
Strong communication and customer‑facing skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Problem‑solving and decision‑making on active jobsites
Time management and schedule adherence
Residential and commercial job sites
Physically demanding work including lifting, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
